Chris Craft Riva Aquarama Model Boat (Painted)

The infamous speedboat that filled the world of boating with a model of possibilities of what a speedboat truly could be was the extremely elegant and unique Riva Aquarama. Introduced in 162 by Riva of Italy, this incredible speedboat captured the quintessential essence and image of a motorboat. Riva was world-renowned for manufacturing and releasing the most luxurious and elegant wooden boats available, and they had truly outdone themselves with this magnificent series.

The stylish and sleek Aquarama featured a new powerful bi-motor engine with exceptional speed and power. With her extraordinary and innovative style and elegance the Aquarama is often compared to a Rolls Royce or Ferrari of the automotive world setting a new standard upon which all speedboats that were to follow would always try to live up to.

Production of the Aquarama continued for many years and the Riva Aquarama was produced in 1996. Also known as the “Rolls-Royce of the Sea”, this boat was 8.75 m long, and powered by a 320 horsepower engine. Reaching incredible speeds as high as 90km/hr, it undoubtedly was a boat that was unmatched with exceptional speed and performance.

The Riva Aquarama series was in a class by herself. Other speedboat manufacturers have yet to produce a speedboat with such extraordinary presence. The Riva Aquarama became an object of desire and legend worldwide that continues into the present day.

All of our model ships and boats are handmade from scratch.

They are built by very skillful and experienced craftsmen. They are also built according to the scale of the original full sized ships. We do this through the use of original plans or pictures and use a plank on frame construction method. The hull of our ships are joined by multiple pieces of dry thin wood.

Inside of the hull, we use a special glue that is imported just for this purpose. The glue makes the wood strips stay close together so that they will not split, crack or twist which can happen due to weather changes or humidity changes.

Our models are built completely for raw materials, NOT kits. We recommend that you purchase a display stand for each ship that you purchase to protect it from harm.
